In 1985 the Case International publication "Canadian Farming" ran a series "The Minority Breeds. "Although there were errors in the item about the Sreckle Park (which is not unusual) the last paragraph was interesting and thought provoking. It was also, as it turned out, perhaps astute.

"Will Speckles replace Charolais as a new, fashionable beef breed in North America? Time will tell. But it is obvious that the breed has more going for it than just it's unusual appearance."

As this is written twenty five years have passed by. we are in another centry. the word "fashionable" can be a warning to anyone who has seen breeds of livestock, even of birds, irresponsibly damaged because they became "fashionable."
