LAMONT BLACK ANGUS

These photos are from Bill and Eileen Lamonts collection.
Shown here are some of the Angus cattle they raised on their land along Big Gully Creek north of Maidstone. The bulls seem short of leg today but their backs were straight, they were deep and thick. They were the bulls used to create the Speckle Park breed, with Mary Lindsay’s cows.

The following are early Speckle Park cows and calves owned by Bill and Eileen.

LAMONT HORSES

It has been said that many of the first breeders of Speckle Park cattle, also had Appaloosa horses.

There's truth in that, but those horses came from Bill and Eileen Lamont. Bill Dilabough and Edward Melchoir raised thier own, although Edward did buy some horses from Bill and Eileen
