2006: The year Speckle Park became a breed.

Credit is due many people, although their reasons might have been diverse, but this should at least put a stop to the appearance in records of the "black cow" un-known, un-ancestored, un-named, un-numbered, ubiquitous black cow, black cow, black cow.

Congratulations to those breeders who won or placed well in the carcass classes in 2006. The very first breeders had said many years ago, that this was where Speckle Park should compete. Eileen Lamont may well have been the first person to express that thought; it was actually she who bought that first cow from Mary Lindsay although Bill chose it.

May good fortune and, if possible honest dealings prevail. May future breeders always know the names of MARY LINDSAY and BILL and EILEEN LAMONT, for the are the people responsible for the creation of the Speckle Park, an act of serendipity if there ever was one.

Question keenly those people who try to claim otherwise. Challenge those wanna-be's to PROVE their statements.

"If this breed doesn't succeed, it won't be the fault of the cattle."

Those who know the truth and believe in giving credit where credit is due will credit the Lamonts. Those who have ill-treated them have already discredited themselves.
